Spring is approaching at Plum Hollow Farms, and we’re gearing up for another season of building soil, tending young crops, and stewarding our 180 acres here in Rideau Lakes near the village of Delta in beautiful Eastern Ontario, Canada. To support the work ahead, we’re looking for a motivated farm labourer to join us from April through November 2026.
If you feel at home on a tractor, enjoy working outdoors, and like the idea of hands-on, regenerative farming, this could be a great seasonal role.
Position Details: Seasonal General Farm Labourer Job Ontario
Season: April 1 to November 1, 2026
Hours: 8 am to 4:30 pm, with flexibility for heat and weather
Compensation: 18.00 CAD per hour
Commute: Best suited to candidates living in the Rideau Lakes area
Eligibility: Must be legally able to work in Canada
Standards: Work follows Ontario’s Employment Standards Act, 2000, including agricultural rules

What Life on the Farm is Like
Our farm sits just outside the historic village of Delta, bordered by wetlands, forest, and open fields. We grow seasonal produce, care for fruit trees and berry rows, raise a small flock of chickens, and build soil systems designed for long-term health and resilience.
Work shifts with the seasons: Bed prep in early spring, planting and orchard care through the summer, and harvest in the fall. Days are physical, varied, and closely tied to weather conditions.
The Kind of Person Who Thrives Here
We’re looking for someone who:
Has real tractor experience and can operate basic implements
Has experience working with fruit trees
Communicates clearly in English
Works safely, reliably, and independently
Handles outdoor work in all kinds of weather
Backgrounds in farming, landscaping, or construction all translate well. Familiarity with organic or regenerative methods is a bonus, not a requirement.

We do have a small trailer on-site, but it’s really a backup option for the right candidate. In practice, the Seasonal General Farm Labourer Job (Ontario) is better suited to someone who can commute daily from the surrounding area.
